At the last General Assembly we agreed that as the weather is becoming nicer, we would like to convene outdoors.
Throughout April, we will therefore be holding regular assemblies in the Pavilion Gardens on Saturday afternoons. “Occupicnic” from 2pm, GA from 3pm.
In the event of bad weather, the Blind Tiger has been proposed as a contingency venue, though we don’t have their blessing yet – more details on contingency planning TBC.
Top of the agenda are solidarity actions for the summer of resistance. Please come along with a picnic and join the discussion.

Initial Statement
This is an Initial Statement but may be subject to change. It has been discussed at open meetings and consensus has been reached on each point.
We need an alternative to the current system which is unsustainable, undemocratic and unjust.
We are all unique people living on this planet. We stand together with occupations all over the world.
Abolish the interest charges on the money creation process.
We do not accept the cuts as either necessary or inevitable.
We seek an alternative to global tax injustice and our democracy representing corporations instead of the people.
We want regulators and watchdogs to be genuinely independent of the industries they regulate.
We support all actions to defend our services, welfare, education and employment, and to stop wars and arms dealing.
We want structural change towards authentic global equality. The world’s resources must be protected and only go towards caring for people and the planet.
We demand an end to the unjust wars and oppression supported by our government.
We demand an end to the police and military brutality both here and in other countries.
This is what democracy looks like.
Come and join us!
We will be starting to move the site around in the morning (On Friday 11th Nov) to make the site have a more community feel and to make it safer and easier for the tranquility team to watch over it at all times. If you have a tent down there please come and help. Or let us know if you have any objection to us moving your tent for you. Thank you, Ree Xx

Occupy Brighton supports the proposed changes suggested by Occupy London.
Globally, corporations deprive the public purse of hundreds of billions of pounds each year, leaving insufficient funds to provide people with fair living standards.
We must abolish tax havens and complex tax avoidance schemes, and ensure corporations pay tax that accurately reflects their real profits.
Corporate lobbying subverts our democracy. Last year corporations spent £2 billion influencing the British government.
We believe exploitative corporate lobbying has no place in a democratic society. Legislation to ensure full and public transparency of all corporate lobbying activities must be put in place. This should be overseen by a credible and independent body, directly accountable to the people.
The existing system of corporate sanctions allows executives and board members to avoid individual responsibility for the consequences of their actions and inactions.
Those directly involved in the decision-making process must be held personally liable for their role in the misdeeds of their corporations and duly charged for all criminal behaviour.
